- SEMO accounting students performed in outstanding fashion on the 2007 CPA exam. Of the eleven Missouri state universities with students without an advanced degree taking the four-part Uniform CPA Examination in 2007, Souheast had the highest exam pass rate in the Regulation section, the second highest exam pass rate in the Business Envionment and Concepts section, and the third highest exam pass rate in the Auditing section.
- In Spring 2009, Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) students won Redhawk Rumble, a competition sponsored by the Harrison College of Business in which four-person teams compete in a Jeopardy/quiz bowl format. BAP students outscored other exceptional business students through several rounds of competition.
- In 2009, MIS students obtained real-world experience by successfully designing a customized database that will be used to handle the complex scheduling of company and student interviews for St. Louis Interview Days.
- A team of accounting students from Southeast Missouri State University finished 5th in the nation at the Institute of Management Accountant's 2004 National Student Video Case Compeetition. Team members Jerl Huling, Gina Hamlin, Amanda Hacker, and Holly Stockwell completed a 15-minute video and submitted the video to IMA for blind judging.
- AITP (Association of Information Technology Professionals) is gearing up to help host the 2010 AITP National Collegiate Conference to be held in St. Louis.
- Four teams from the Harrison College of Business' capstone course (Business Policy and Strategy) finished in the top four in a national team competition for a business simulation game completed as part of course requirements for Summer 2004.
- AITP - A team of Southeast students won 5th place out of 56 university teams in a Network Design Competition at the National AITP Collegiate Conference at Purdue University.
- Southeast Missouri State University accounting students were national champions in the Institute of Management Accountants 2002 National Video Showcase Competition in San Antonio, TX.
