Here is a complete “To Do” list. Follow this list, check things off and make notes. The list is provided to successfully guide you to Southeast!
June-August 2012
- Summer is a great time to visit colleges. As your college search process moves into high gear, we invite you to spend a day with us – make your reservation now
- Know your cumulative GPA and class rank. Compare your academic record to Southeast’s academic scholarship criteria. Southeast academic scholarships are awarded automatically, providing you meet the criteria.
- Review your senior schedule to make sure you will meet the academic core curriculum requirements for admission to Southeast.
- Register for the September ACT by August 17
September 2012
- Take ACT on September 8
- Register for October ACT by September 21
October 2012
- Attend Show Me Day on October 6 - register now
- Visit with Southeast at the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC) College Fair in St. Louis on October 21
- Take ACT on October 27
- Apply for admission and scholarships. Apply online, pick up an application from your high school or community college counselor or request one from us by calling (573) 651-2590.
- Visit with a Southeast admissions counselor at your high school – view visit schedules
November 2012
- Attend Show Me Day on November 10 – register now
- Attend the Department of Agriculture and Industrial and Engineering Technology Open House on November 10, immediately following Show Me Day
- Register for December ACT by November 2
- Visit with a Southeast admissions counselor at your high school – view visit schedules
December 2012
- Take ACT on December 8
(December ACT results can be used for scholarship consideration, but you must apply for admission by December 1.) - December 1 - Early Admission Consideration and Scholarship Guarantee Deadline – Application for Admission and Residence Life Leadership Scholarship Application must be received by this date to guarantee your scholarship. All scholarships except the Governor’s, Regents’ and President's will continue to be awarded through March 1.
- December 1 - Priority Housing Contract Deadline
Note: Housing contracts can be submitted through My Southeast, the student portal. To meet this deadline we advise you to submit all admission materials by November 1. - You and a parent (if you are a dependent student) should apply for a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) PIN. The PIN serves as your identifier to let you electronically submit your FAFSA.
January 2013
- Register for February ACT by January 11
- The 2013-2014 FAFSA is now available online.
February 2013
- Take ACT on February 9 (February ACT results can be used for March 1 scholarship consideration, but you must apply for admission by March 1.)
- Submit the FAFSA by February 15. This will ensure your FAFSA is received by the federal processing center by March 1.
- Attend Show Me Day on February 16 – register now
- Attend Southeast's Multicultural Showcase on February 16 – register now
- Attend President's Day at Southeast on February 18 – register now
- Reserve your First STEP (orientation) date now.
- Visit with a Southeast admissions counselor at your high school – view visit schedules
March 2013
- March 1 – Endowed and Sponsored Scholarship deadline – Apply through My Southeast, the student portal. View scholarships and application instructions
- March 1 – Final deadline for all scholarships
- March 1 – Priority Financial Aid Deadline - Applying for financial aid by March 1 will improve your chances of receiving federal (SEOG) and institutional (Bridge to Success) grant funds, low-interest (Perkins) loans, Federal Work Study, and financial aid from the State of Missouri.
- Register for April ACT by March 8
- Visit with a Southeast admissions counselor at your high school – view visit schedule
April 2013
- Financial aid award emails sent to your Southeast email account.
- Take ACT on April 13 (April ACT results are not used in scholarship consideration for graduating seniors)
- Attend Show Me Day on April 20 – register now
- Attend the Department of Agriculture and Industrial and Engineering Technology Open House on April 20, immediately following Show Me Day
May 2013
- May 1 – Return academic scholarship award agreement and accept financial aid award offers through My Southeast, the student portal.
- Register for June ACT by May 3
June 2013
- Congratulations on your high school graduation!
- Send Southeast a final high school transcript. Your admission file is re-evaluated during this time to confirm that you have completed the required core curriculum and maintained a sufficient cumulative GPA.
- Take ACT on June 8 (June ACT results are not used in scholarship consideration for graduating seniors)
July 2013
- Housing and roommate assignments mailed and available through My Southeast, the student portal

Welcome to Southeast!
- August 22 – Move-in Day for resident students
- August 23 – Southeast 101 – for all new Southeast students
- August 26 – First day of the fall semester
