Why Southeast was my 1st choice...

"In addition to my acceptance here at Southeast, I was also accepted to two other universities.  I chose to attend Southeast because of the location, affordability, diversity, curriculum and accreditation, and close community atmosphere.  I only lived one hour from the university so if there is an emergency or anything, I don’t have far to go.  Plus, the university is centered in Cape Girardeau which is a nice town to live in when you are first entering adulthood.  The college expenses are very affordable for the quality.

Before I actually started my first semester here, I attended the Show Me Day and the Multi-Cultural Day they provided, and I met a lot of interesting people.  I love meeting new people and learning about their culture.  My suitemate was from China, and I enjoyed learning about her family, hobbies and eating her Chinese food!  I also love the curriculum Southeast provided to each student, no matter the major.

Southeast believes that when you experience success in whatever field you choose, you, as a worker, should be well rounded.  The University courses that students get to pick allows them to enhance other capabilities that they may have, in addition to learning your major.  I am majoring in Business Administration and Southeast has been awarded the prestigious accreditation of AACSB International, placing it in the top 25 percent of business programs nationally.  With the close community environment, I am able to interact with my professors efficiently.  My experience here at Southeast has truly been successful!"
