Who We Are

The Multicultural Recruitment Team provides current Southeast students with the opportunity to join the University's effort to recruit multicultural students. This will allow prospective students and their families to have personal contact with Southeast students and gain some insight of the student's perspective of the campus and community.

The Multicultural Recruitment Team will be comprised of students who will serve as Student Ambassadors for the Office of Admissions. The program's primary focus is to provide the opportunity for prospective students to meet with current students during campus visits and on-campus events.  Students actively involved in the Southeast community will have the opportunity to share their student experience, leadership ability and talents with prospective students and their families.

Our Objectives

• To increase the amount of personal contact between prospective multicultural students and current Southeast students
• To allow current Southeast students to share their knowledge of the Southeast campus and community with prospective students and their parents
• To allow current Southeast students to develop leadership and organizational skills in the university environment

Position Description

• Visit one-on-one with prospective students and their families
• Participate in special events and programs both on- and off-campus
• Participate in Show Me Day and Showcase open house events
• Lead and/or accompany prospective students and their families on campus tours

Selections Criteria

• Completed at least one semester at Southeast with a minimum of 2.25 GPA
• Positive attitude about Southeast
• Excellent communication skills in one-on-one and group settings
• General knowledge of Southeast's programs and services

Application Process

Selection of new Multicultural Recruitment Team members is held during the fall and spring semesters.  Members will be selected through an application and interview process.  Applications can be picked up at Academic Hall Room 259.
