The National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and Missouri Academic Advising Association (MACADA) are two organizations which are open to membership for all advisors. Both organizations have active list serves for discussion of a variety of advising topics and other member benefits as well including conferences at the state, regional and national level.

A degree audit is a report which shows all degree requirements and tracks progress towards meeting those requirements. Advisors use the detailed degree audit report to recommend courses for the upcoming semester. It is also the responsibility of the student to understand the degree audit report and track progress towards meeting graduation requirements.
The following designations are issued for transfer courses which have no equivalent Southeast courses.
A degree audit for prior degreed students (those who have already graduated and later returned for an additional degree) should be compared to the appropriate curriculum sheet. Students who earned a prior degree at another institution will need to work with their advisor to make sure various requirements have been subbed or waived.

Enrollment may be done through the portal at http://portal.semo.edu on or after the students’ priority registration date as long as they have obtained their alternate PIN from their assigned advisor. Questions regarding enrollment can be directed to the Office of the Registrar in Academic Hall 129 or (573) 651.2299.
Priority registration dates are available in the portal and on the front of the Schedule of Classes Newspaper. Registration is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (except for Sundays, when it begins at 9:00 a.m.)
