The Agricultural Education major focuses on two separate yet integrated areas of study. The first area is content within the realm of the agricultural sciences such as horticultural science, plant science, animal science, agricultural mechanics, and agricultural business. These are learned as a base of knowledge which will be used in instruction in the secondary agricultural program as an agricultural educator. The second area is the educational component of agricultural education. Here you will develop the necessary skills and understanding of the process of teaching and learning. Topics in this area include learning styles, educational law, classroom management, teaching strategies, course of study planning, and educating the exceptional child.
