The Department of Agriculture hosted the Growers Field Day. Our students assisted by aiding in demonstrations as well as acting as tour guides.
Students of Agriculture in the Economy, a University Studies course, had the opportunity to take a hayride through the University Farm.
In the greenhouse mums are being propagated in preparation for the annual mum sale. Students learn how to propogate plants from leaf nodes and how to take care of these young plants as they grow and mature.
Students of Horse Science study conformation of horses. While on the farm they learn horseback riding, nutrition, breeding techniques and basic genetics.
The start of the 2010 fall semester saw our animal science students meeting Dr. Julie Weathers. Dr. Weathers has joined the staff at the Agriculture Department to teach animal science.
