Goals for AP Institute
I believe that one of the most important things to teach calculus teachers about AP Calculus is how to teach students the "big picture". Students perform terrifically on the AP exam and in their next course of Calculus if they make connections between all of the different facets/objectives of calculus. I also emphasize the importance of knowing when to use technology to solve problems. I love teaching calculus because it is a wonderful culmination of the mathematics topics they have learned in previous years, and i Love seeing the "Ah ha!" moments on students' faces that tells me they are just as excited about this as I am!
