  • Continuous improvement activities – Systems Portfolio submitted during year 4
  • Self-study report developed addressing each of the five accreditation criteria
  • Emphasis is on presenting information that all criteria have been met
  • No weaknesses or need for improvement is the ideal
  • Requires intense 2-year effort with special expenditures to prepare for visit
  • Areas for improvement are determined by visiting team and NCA staff
  • Emphasis on evidence of progress on institutionally-determined areas needing improvement
  • Institutional Self-Assessment using Examiner survey
  • Identify 3-4 Action Projects (New projects added as current projects completed)
  • Participation in Strategy Forum (1st year and every 4 years thereafter)
  • Creation of Systems Portfolio during years 1-3
  • Submit Systems Portfolio in year 4 for appraisal by AQIP team

  • NCA Consultant-Evaluator team evaluates degree of compliance with the five accreditation criteria
  • AQIP staff and team provide frequent feedback regarding Action Projects and continuous improvement on the nine AQIP criteria
  • NCA staff determines reaccreditation status and requires interim reports, if needed.
  • May result in focused visits or denial of accreditation
  • NCA reaccreditation determined by full participation in AQIP and evidence of progress and improvement over 7 years (Action Projects)
  • If institution does not demonstrate continual effort to improve, returned to PEAQ process
