The David M. Barton Agriculture Research Center is a teaching asset designed for undergraduate research and education. Undergraduate students participate in all aspects of the row crop and beef herd management. The disciplines that are emphasized at the David M. Barton Agriculture Research Center are reproductive physiology, genetics of food animal improvement, ruminant nutrition and beef production management.  Crop physiology, soil fertility, and pest management are highlighted in research involving primarily corn, soybeans, and forages.   Additionally, stewardship is strongly emphasized with studies involving nitrate leaching and surface water quality and best management practices.
