Painting

The Painting Specialization in the Department of Art introduces students to both traditional and experimental approaches to creating artwork. Entry level classes focus on techniques and mastery of painting mediums, while upper-level courses encourage original creative thought and concept development. The Painting program operates out of two studios with introductory painting housed in the CAC at the River Campus location and Painting II – IV taught on the Main Campus. In addition to regular classroom activities, painting students are encouraged to engage in extracurricular opportunities such as public mural projects, Catapult Creative House exhibitions, Arts Council exhibitions, Art Guild activities, field trips, and more.
