Emily Denlinger Website
Emily Denlinger's work explores the human condition. Issues of identity, gender roles, survival, and codependency on others are addressed within her depictions of the mundane moments of daily life. She contextualizes these images next to her interpretations of passages in popular literature and political events.
Denlinger is originally from Ohio, where she received her BFA in 2D Art with a Concentration in Photography from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. She went on study at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland where she earned a MA in Digital Art, which she then transferred into an MFA in Photography and Digital Imaging. Before coming to Southeast, she was teaching various Digital Art, Photography, and Continuing Education classes at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
