Carol B. Horst Art Education Instructor of Art
Carol B. Horst has been an art educator since 1976. She attended Washington University, Southwest Missouri State University, and received her B.S. and Masters in Art degrees from Southeast Missouri State University. Her teaching career began in the Rockwood School District in St. Louis County teaching secondary Art I classes in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and video. Four years later, she married Steve Horst, owner of Horst pharmacy, moved to Jackson, where she created logos for local businesses, illustrated a kinesiology textbook entitled Introductory Biomechanics, and drew hundreds of commissioned portraits. Carol has two daughters: Jennifer, who is currently a surgery resident at Barnes Jewish Hospital; and, Laura, an engineer at Proctor and Gamble. After the births of her daughters in 1980 and 1982, Carol began teaching elementary art in 1983 in the Jackson R2 School District. |
