Student organizations are encouraged to utilize this resource to assist in building and managing a successful organization. The handbook includes general policies and procedures, funding and finance resources, event planning tools, important numbers, and advisor resources.

Student Organization Registration and Officer Changes

Campus Life & Event Services is utilizing a new system called OrgSync to register new and returning student organizations. If you are familiar with the system, log into OrgSync with your Southeast Key to register your organization. In order to register, you must have five officers/members, a constitution which includes anti-hazing and anti-discrimination statements, and an advisor who is a current University faculty or staff member.

If you are unfamiliar with OrgSync or the registration process, please visit an Involvement Ambassador in the Center for Student Involvement (University Center 204) Monday-Friday, 12-5 pm. Appointments are suggested, but not necessary. Involvement Ambassadors can walk you through the steps of creating a profile and registering your organization.

The benefits of registering your organization and having it recognized by the Student Government Association include:

  • A listing on official University publications and websites.
  • Free room reservations through Event Services & Scheduling.
  • Center for Student Involvement (CSI) resources.
  • Access to share your organization information with the Involvement Ambassadors, who in turn can verbally promote your organization to students seeking involvement opportunities.
  • The option to reserve space at the Student Involvement Fair and Welcome Back Picnic the following Fall semester.
  • Free advertising through the Engage in 8!, the SO Digest, and First STEP information items.
  • An organization mailbox.
  • The option to apply for Dollars for Innovative Campus Events (DICE) funding.
  • Eligibility for SGA funding.
  • Ability to use SGA inventory.
  • Up to three free entries into the annual Homecoming parade.
  • Additional training opportunities.

DICE Funding

Dollars for Innovative Campus Events (DICE) is a funding source for any student or student organization hosting programs over the weekend (Thursday night – Sunday night). The event must be open to the entire campus community and free for Southeast students. The general guidelines and application can be found online. SG Funding Board

Student organizations interested in receiving funding from Student Government will need to meet with the SG Treasurer or attend a funding informational meeting to apply for funding. Dates, forms, and other information regarding funding procedures may be found on the Student Government Funding Guidelines page.
