Position Location: Dunklin County – Kennett, Missouri with responsibility for horticulture programming needs in
Dunklin, Butler, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Ripley, Scott, and Stoddard counties in the Southeast Region.
Salary: $27,500-30,500 (based on applicable experience)
Specific Responsibilities: This position will provide horticulture educational programming in 8 counties in the SE region. Responsible for responding to commercial and home horticulture questions, making field visits, and developing programming events to meet the needs of commercial producers and local residents.
This position is an academic position funded for one year.
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires an earned bachelor’s degree with at least 15 hours of coursework in horticulture or related subjects.
Ability to travel and to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends is required to fulfill assigned responsibilities.
Additional Preferred Qualifications: Ability to understand, synthesize and communicate relevant information to diverse audiences. Ability to work with minimum supervision in an unstructured setting. Ability to effectively use information technology including a variety of Windows based computer software programs. Demonstrate effective interpersonal, communication, and teaching skills. Commitment to education and service to the community.
