Joyce A. Hunter
Experiential Learning Coordinator

Joyce Hunter joined the Career Linkages team as experiential learning coordinator in November of 2007.  Joyce works with students, members of the business community, and University faculty as a resource to “link” these groups together for a successful learning experience.

As a former employer of more than a dozen Southeast interns, Joyce shares a unique viewpoint of the internship program at Southeast.  Employers have the opportunity to recruit bright and talented students, who bring fresh perspectives and energy to the organization.  Students are provided the opportunity to learn, grow and contribute to the company’s goals and objectives.  Together they are able to forge a mutually beneficial relationship that allows both parties to “experience” the cutting edge of classroom learning and the reality of a productive and ongoing business concern.

Joyce, a seasoned marketing and public relations professional, brings over 25 years experience in the marketing and public relations field in the advertising, financial, newspaper, retail and shopping center industries.  Before joining the University community, Joyce was the director of marketing for Buchheit, Inc. – a regional home improvement/farm store retail chain headquartered in Southeast Missouri.  Prior to the position at Buchheit, Joyce served as marketing director for two midwest enclosed shopping malls for the Westfield Group, Inc – an international property management company based in Sydney, Australia.

Joyce is a Southeast graduate with a double major in marketing management and psychology, and credits the success of her career with the solid foundation provided by Southeast.  She is excited to build positive and productive relationships with students, business owners/professionals and faculty – as she says she believes a successful program is one where all parties are winners.
