All Majors Career & Internship Fairs

Will you be job or internship searching within the next year? Or are you looking to gain experience for when that time comes? Don't miss your opportunity to connect with employers at the All-Majors Career & Internship Fairs, sponsored each Fall and Spring semester by the Office of Career Services. The purpose of these bi-annual events is to connect local and national employers who are looking to fill full-time positions and/or internships with our talented Southeast students. Students and alumni of all majors and all class levels are encouraged to attend these all-inclusive career fairs.

The All-Majors Career Fair is a great way to don your professional attire and network face-to-face with local and national employers interested in hiring Southeast students and graduates for full-time and internship positions. With 100+ employers in one place on the same day, career fairs are a very efficient use of your job search time! Career Fairs are exclusively for Southeast students and alumni with valid Southeast ID.

Haven't logged on to your FREE REDConnect account yet? Current students and alumni who graduated post-May 2013 may log on here. Alumni who graduated pre-May 2013 may contact us at careerservices@semo.edu to have your account created.

The Career Fair is a great opportunity to:

  • Discuss employment openings with employers
  • Distribute your resume (bring lots of copies!)
  • Discuss your qualifications, skills and academic background
  • Obtain company information/business cards of the organizations that interest you

Before you attend the Career Fair:

  • Activate your REDConnect account and upload your resume. This is the most up-to-date way to check out all of the employers who are registered to attend the Career Fair.
  • Research websites of employers who will be attending
  • Update your resume and consider making an appointment at Career Services for a one-on-one appointment.
  • Prepare and rehearse a one-minute introduction or "elevator speech."
  • Practice answering possible interview questions.
  • Get your professional attire ready.
  • *Students who are not dressed professionally will not be admitted into the Career Fair*

What to do after a Career Fair:

  • Write a thank-you letter to each employer with whom you spoke. Be sure to confirm your interest and enthusiasm for the organization in your letter.
  • Check REDConnect regularly to see if the organization has scheduled an on-campus interview and to stay updated on future job openings.
