    Admissions

Admission to the Center is on a “first come, first served” basis for each age group.  Applications are available in the Center for Child Studies office, 238 Scully, or online.  Parents may indicate a preferred year of enrollment on the application. Completed applications are dated upon receipt. This date determines the order for contacting parents for future enrollment of their child.  Children who are not enrolled at the time of application will be put on the waiting list. The waiting list is updated each year.  Failure to respond to an update notice will result in withdrawal of the child’s name from the waiting list.  It is the responsibility of the family to ensure that the Center has current contact information and to respond to communications regarding openings.

    Priority Enrollment

Priority for enrollment of children at the Center for Child Studies is determined by the following means:

    1. Children who are currently enrolled are given priority for the upcoming school year.  Parents of currently enrolled children must respond by the priority enrollment deadline to take advantage of priority enrollment.

    2. Siblings of currently enrolled children.  Siblings are invited to enroll at the time priority enrollment forms are sent to currently enrolled children.  Parents must respond by the priority enrollment deadline to take advantage of priority enrollment for siblings.

    3. Children who have documented special needs if there is not currently a child in the classroom who has special needs.  Priority is by date of application.  (Documentation of special needs must be provided to the Center for this consideration.)

    4. Children are enrolled according to the waiting list by date of application, for any available opening, by age groups.

    5. The Center may skip over names on the waiting list in order to maintain age balance in classrooms.

    Withdrawal

If a child is withdrawn from the program, families must complete a new application in order to re-enroll the child.  That application will be dated at the time it is submitted, and the new date will be used for the waiting list.  Summer school is optional, and failure to enroll in summer school is not considered withdrawal from the program.   Failure of the child to attend the first week of school without notice to the Center or payment of fees will result in withdrawal of the child from the program.
