Advising

The Advising Center processes all applications for admission to teacher education before students enroll in the professional block sequence. A student majoring in education should complete a teacher education application during the semester prior to entering block II.  Applications can be obtained in Scully 309. He or she will then receive a letter through e-mail, from the center prior to entering the professional block sequence informing the student of his or her eligibility for the Teacher Education Program.  Any student determined to be ineligible for the program will be issued a letter through e-mail, of denial.

Students majoring in elementary education, early childhood education and exceptional child education are advised by the College of Education Advising Center until full admission to the Teacher Education Program at which time they are assigned a faculty advisor. Secondary and Middle School students are advised by their content advisors or other advisors as assigned. These students contact the Advising Center for admission to Teacher Education but do not report to the Advising Center for advising.
