Dr. Lisa Speer, Archivist Dr. Lisa K. Speer, Special Collections and Archives Librarian, came to Southeast in January 2001. She earned her M. A. ('91) and Ph.D. ('98) in American History at the University of Mississippi. In December 2002, she completed a Master's degree in Library and Information Studies at the University of Alabama. Speer's training as a Faulkner Collection librarian began at the University of Mississippi, where she worked as a Library Assistant and later served a one-year term as Acting Curator of the Mississippi Collection. Her research interests include the cultural history of the United States South, book history, and legal and ethical issues of archives. She has published articles in Provenance: Journal of the Society of Georgia Archivists and Journal of American and Comparative Cultures, and Collection Building. Dr. Speer is a member of the Society of American Archivists, the Midwest Archives Conference, and the Society of Georgia Archivists. She serves as book review editor for Provenance, the journal of the Society of Georgia Archivists, and is a reviewer for Choice and ARBA. |
