Nobuaki Namiki Named 2006 BioKyowa Scholar

Nobuaki Namiki, Professor of English at Senshu University in Kawasaki City, Japan, is the 2006 BioKyowa Visiting Japanese Scholar at the Center for Faulkner Studies.

The eighth recipient of the annual travel grant awarded by BioKyowa, Inc., Professor Namiki will utilize the resources of the Louis Daniel Brodsky Collection of Faulkner materials and visit classes in the English department.

Namiki, a member of the governing board of the William Faulkner Society of Japan, has published numerous articles in Japanese journals on Faulkner, Ernest Hemingway, American movies, and Christian culture.

Namiki holds a master’s degree from Rikkyo University in Tokyo.  He was a 1992 research fellow at the University of North Carolina, having received a grant from the American Council of Learned Societies.
