Dr. Robert Hamblin, professor of English at Southeast Missouri State University, will be the featured poet at the Tallahatchie Riverfest in New Albany, Miss., Sept. 20-22.

Hamblin to Be Featured Poet in Mississippi

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 11, 2007 – Dr. Robert Hamblin, professor of English at Southeast Missouri State University, will be the featured poet at the Tallahatchie Riverfest in New Albany, Miss., Sept. 20-22.

As the featured poet, Hamblin will judge adult and student poetry competitions, present readings from his own poetry to three different venues, and conduct a poetry workshop for high school and college students.

Hamblin’s third book of poems, Keeping Score: Sports Poems for Every Season, was published in May.  He previously published Mind the Gap: Poems by an American in London and From the Ground Up.

He is currently completing another book of poems, Crossroads, about growing up at Brice’s Cross Roads in northeast Mississippi.
