R.A. Humphrey

Russell A. Humphrey

Russell Humphrey started at the Southeast Innovation Center in early 2008.  He was the  Technical Assistance Counselor for the Small Business Development Center for one year, and now is the Innovation Center's small business network coordinator.  Humphrey was also reacently named the Director of the Small Business Technical Development Center (SBTDC) after the resignation of Bill Vickery.

Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, Russell spent eleven years in semiconductor sales, mostly in California.  After moving to Mississippi,  he and his wife, Roberta, constructed a small-town radio station in northern Mississippi. Together, they were the station's owner/operators for 12 years.  Russell was responsible for the station's sales, engineering, and management.  He also served on the Board of Directors for his local Chamber of Commerce.

For the top three things you always wanted to know about Russell but were afraid to ask:
1. He has lived in nine states.
2. He played tuba in high school and university marching bands.
3. He says he is handy with a soldering iron.
