Be a Better Communicator.
Be a Better You.

Rather than a boarding pass for a specific career path, Communication Studies provides a passport to various career possibilities.

Communication Studies prepares students to be competent, resourceful communcators in today's highly diverse, constantly evolving professional world.

Most persons, according to a 2015 Bureau of Labor Statistics' longitudinal study, have held nearly a dozen jobs during a career. In such volatile times — with workers ever on the move — a "passport" can come in handy.

As if that's not enough, the same skill set helps one develop and enjoy better relationships as well as participate more meaningfully in civic affairs.

Formal study of communication can help nurture what best-selling author Fareed Zakaria (2015) notes is "a greater capacity" for us "to be good partners, friends, parents, and citizens" (In Defense of a Liberal Education, p. 151).

Communication Studies, in short, can help one excel professionally as well as enrich one's personal life. Majors can elect one of three areas of study:
