Communication Studies develops transferable skills that are high-in-demand: effective speaking, writing, listening, and visual communication (and the critical thinking skills upon which these all rely), as well as enhanced nonverbal communication and the ability to work productively in teams and/ or as a leader.

These are the skills employers seek. In its Job Outlook 2015, the National Association of Colleges and Employers reported that "employers once again rate teamwork as most important" along with "the ability to make decisions and solve problems, followed by verbal communication skills" (p. 34).

With one-on-one advising, we help majors identify the perfect second major or minor(s) so they will be ready for the workplace or advanced study.
