Ballroom Dancing
Retire your status as a wallflower and get your dancing boots on! In this class, partners will learn how to communicate and lead each other while dancing. In addition, you will learn basic swing movements and some social dancing footwork. This is a fun and basic introductory class designed to get you dancing together in no time. Enjoy meeting other couples and dancing your Friday evenings away while learning new moves to help you shine on the dance floor.

Mike Buerck and Barb Fink met in 1994 and have been dancing ever since. Mike and Barb have developed a passion for teaching dance to “everyday” people who want to learn and have fun. They have been teaching for over 11 years and have shared their love of dance with people throughout the Southeast Missouri region. Mike and Barb are the reigning Kiwanis 50s and 60s dance champions and are avid students of dance who continuously look to add to their repertoire of dance moves.
Simply Swing: Intro to Swing Dance
In the mood to do something fun that is also good for you? This class will get your feet moving to the beat of a wide variety of music. No dance experience needed, just come prepared to have fun! Participants will start with the basics and work their way up to more flashy and complicated moves. Leading and following techniques are stressed throughout the course. Beginners, singles, and couples are welcome.

50 Shades of Write
This course will lead new and aspiring writers through techniques and approaches in bringing their writing to life. Focusing primarily in areas of children's and young adult literature styles and approaches, this course also addresses many different genres and styles of writing, from Americana Fiction and Domestic Realism, to Science Fiction and the venerable Western. Concluding with tips on approaching publishing houses and agents, participants in this course will leave with a structure to their intended work in hand, as well as having developed new contacts and support to offset the lonely, yet beautiful world, that is 50 shades of Write for the aspiring novelist or storyteller as he or she tells a story.

Dr. Thomas Eaton is the Associate Professor of English Education, teaching both Children's Literature and Young Adult Lterature for teacher candidates in Education. Eaton, a 2001 National William Faulkner Short Story Award winner, is a creative writer that has published in The American West E-zine, Outer Darkness, The Scavenger's Newsletter, Big Muddy: Journal of the Mississippi River Valley, and many other journals and magazines. He has served as a keynote speaker for the Heartland Writers Guild and is a member of the Southeast Missouri Writers Guild and Western Writers of America. Primarily a "modern cowboy" Western writer, Eaton's latest short story collection, Blue Skirts & Salmon Stone, is under contract consideration with High Hill Press, Missouri. His newest work-in-progress, One Fine Day In Fort Laramie, is a collection of children's stories (ages 5-10) with a western theme.
