Cigar 101 with Fumatore di Sigaro
This course will offer something for the novice to the aficionado. Topics covered will include (but are not limited to) humidor etiquette, how to choose a cigar based on your palate and experience, how blending is important to you, cutting-lighting-smoking cigars, storing cigars, watch-outs, and what you should expect from your tobacconist. Each person will receive 1 cigar to smoke on site. Instructor will offer insights on how to detect subtlities of flavor of that particular cigar.

He and his knowledgeable staff take a great deal of pride in helping people about the pleasure of cigars and assisting them in selecting the perfect cigar.
The Art of Landscape and Portrait Photography
Want to know more about digital photography and taking better pictures without using Photoshop? This course is for the intermediate level photographer and involves photographing a subject for each class. The six weeks will cover elements of composition, mastering camera controls, exposure and lighting, and how to better photograph people, places, and things. You will also learn how to get the most from your camera, and the use of photography as a means of documentation and an art form.
Participants will need to bring a single lens reflect digital camera and bring it to class.

Disc Golf Tee Off
John Dodd, owner of Cyclewerx and avid Disc Golfer, is teed up and ready to teach you how to sink your shots in this exciting sport. Disc Golf has been around for decades but is new to the area with the course in Capaha Park and the brand new course in Cape County Park North. These parks have been set up with family time in mind so grab some family or friends and come learn how to play this addicting and fun sport. Everyone who signs up will receive a free starter set complete with 3 discs valued at $23 from Cyclewerx.

Through lecture and actual live play, learn the basics of the game, the rules, and even poker etiquette. Animal Behavior 101
Do you love your furry friend but struggle to understand his/her actions? Dr. Steve Williams, DVM, of the Animal Health Centers in Sikeston and Charleston, and the Animal Emergency Center of Cape Girardeau, will explain the ins and outs of pack behavior, provide training tips, and answer questions such as, “Why does my dog do that?” Participants are encouraged to submit their questions at the time of registration so that Dr. Williams can tailor the class to your specific needs.

Ever wondered, ‘What is Meditation?’ Well now is your time to find out! In this class, we will explore the basics of meditation in order to help you develop an at-home routine that will allow you to master your stress and relax. The sessions will cover theoretical concepts and guided practice as you learn and apply the ideas to your own life. Sally Kempton's "Meditation For the Love of It" will be a required book for this class.

Intro to Fly Fishing
Have you always wanted to try fly fishing but didn't know where to begin? This three-day class introduces beginners to basic fly tying, casting, and fishing techniques and is taught by IGFA World Record setting, fly fishing guide, and casting instructor, Philip Willmert. WEB EXTENSION: The first session focuses on tackle (rod, reel, line, knots, etc) and casting. The second session will present practical fly tying; simple patterns for local fish such as bluegill, bass, etc. At the third session, participants will get to apply what they've learned to catching fish at a local pond such as Capaha or Cape County.
Participants will be able to used loaned equipment but would also have the option of purchasing a new rod/reel/line combo for $65.

IGFA Fly Rod World Record setter Philip Willmert is an accomplished angler with over 20 years of fly fishing experience throughout North America. His fishing interests are wide-ranging, from alligator gar in south Texas to wild cutthroats in the Yellowstone River. His favorites, though, are brown trout in fall and winter and trophy northern pike and smallmouth during the spring in northern Ontario, Canada.
