Angry Birds Science

It’s a popular game for kids, young and old, but did you know you were learning science when playing Angry Birds?  From building structures to launching Angry Birds in an attempt to knock down the structure and the pigs, your will learn all about force and motion through hands-on experiments. Who says learning can’t be fun?

Creature Feature

Creating fantasy creatures will be the goal of this fun workshop! We will use paper of all sorts, shapes, colors and textures to give life to our imagination! Paper- making, paper sculpture, paper mosaic and paper weaving techniques will be introduced.(Warning: dragons and mythical creatures may rise out of your paper sculptures with scales, wings and glowing red eyes! Must be brave for Creature Feature!)

Good Guys vs Bad Guys: An Adventure in Clay

Get ready for some fun in the clay studio! Use your hands to create heroes and villains with clay. Put creativity and imagination to work to decorate your pieces with bright glazes. No experience is necessary for this class, just a good imagination! At the end of the week you will be able to take home your pieces to share with family and friends.

Happy Hula Days

Splash into the Pacific Ocean! Learn about our 50th state – Hawaii! Become familiar with the state of Hawaii and many aspects of this island’s geography, culture, language, and native people. Take a virtual trip to the ocean and meet the animals if the islands. Create an erupting volcano and rainbow. Eat local food and listen to the music of this tropical island. Campers will learn how to say their name in Hawaiian and even make their own lei. Discover Hawaiian Culture without leaving home. Aloha!

Jurassic Marks

Travel back in time to the days when dinosaurs were walking the earth! Learn to draw dinosaurs, paint pictures of your dinosaurs in “cave-painting” style on crumpled brown paper with inks and sticks as your tools, make imprints in plaster to simulate fossils and create large paper mache dinosaur eggs to paint.

Medieval Merriment

 Hark! All ye lords and ladies - Come forth and participate in our quest!  Travel throughout the royal kingdom to learn about: Castles-- buildings, moats, and drawbridges, Wizards -- science and potions, Tales/Legends -- literature, storytelling, songs and painting, Tools -- catapults, armor and archery, Princesses & Knights -- shields, hats and history. Join us on our merry, medieval adventure!

Safari Adventures

Let's go on safari to the zoo! You will learn fun facts about animals from Antelope to Zebras! This safari adventure includes animal related activities, craft projects, games, and an animal visitor everyday. Come explore the zoo and Take a Walk on the Wild Side! All sessions will be held at Lazy L Safari Park. For those with allergies, please note that students will interact with animals throughout the week.

Space Adventures

Explore the rockets and shuttles used in space travel.  Train to be a future astronaut.  Investigate the planets both near and far.  Soar through outer space discovering the stars the make up the night sky.  Use tools just like astronomers and astronauts.  You’ll be ready to Blast Off after this week of filled with fun science and math activities!
