Q: Where is Pumpkin Palooza located and where do I check in?
A: Pumpkin Palooza is located at the historic Glenn House at 325 South Spanish Street in Cape Girardeau Missouri. Check in tables will be available in the front as well as the back yard of the house. Q: Where do we park once arriving at the Glenn House?
A: Street parking is available along Spanish Street additional parking is available in the River Campus parking lots ( http://semo.edu/rivercampus/about/directions.html ) Guests are asked NOT to park in the Knights of Columbus Hall parking lot due to an event scheduled that evening. Violators of this request may be towed.
Q: What does B.Y.O.P. mean?
A: Bring Your Own Pumpkin. We plan to have some pumpkins available for purchase, however, due to the large amount of interest in this event, we will not guarantee pumpkins will be available for your child. We will provide assistance with carving, patterns and craft supplies for decoration. You are welcome to bring any carving kits/templates of your own as well. At dusk, we will light all the carved pumpkins for a special "pumpkin glow."
Q: Should we wear costumes?
A: Costumes are not required but they certainly add to the fun. A costume contest will be held with judging at 5pm.
Q: Are there any costs associated with this event?
A: All of the outdoor events at Pumpkin Palooza will be free of charge. This includes pumpkin carving/decorating, face-painting, crafts, storytelling, music, spooky science and more. Halloween tours of the historic Glenn house will be available for $5/adult (children 12 under tour free of charge!) Snacks, drinks and other items will be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit the Historical Association of Greater Cape Girardeau.
