Health & Well-Being Course Offerings:
Self Defense with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Jiu Jitsu is a branch of martial arts that focuses on practical, street self defense and ground fighting. Originally developed for smaller individuals in the country of Brazil, Jiu Jitsu, has evolved into an effective self defense system, a thriving sport, and an essential component of Mixed Martial Arts fighting. Jiu Jitsu does not incorporate many of the complex movements and complicated theories that other martial arts employ. In the real word - most fights end up on the ground - you have to be prepared for that scenario. Learn the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in this fun hands-on class. Each class will begin with a light warm up and stretch. Next, instructor John Dudley will teach practical techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Once the technique has been covered, students who wish to participate will be given the opportunity to practice their newly learned skill! This class involves lots of hands-on training, so wear loose, comfortable clothing so you can learn and practice how to: • Defeat an assailant without fighting Mondays, April 13-May 4 John Dudley has been actively training in martial arts for over 15 years.
