Do you have basic Photoshop skills and want to learn how to use more advanced features when working with this software program? This class will build upon your basic skill level and teach you more tricks of the trade to use when manipulating graphics. Class will be taught with simple, detailed step-by-step instructions. Tired of the “same old” boring language classes? Would you like to learn some useful Spanish phrases without spending hours in a classroom setting? Join us for this new workshop where you will speak Spanish with a native speaker and meet other folks with whom to practice your language skills. Each class will visit a new location (parks, stores, cafés… the possibilities are endless) and speak in Spanish along the way. At each location, you’ll learn vocabulary specific to the destination. You will be notified where to meet each week. Some previous Spanish knowledge is helpful but not required. Admissions, food, and beverage purchases are not included. Dates/Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays, Oct. 13-22, 6-8 p.m. Fernando Higuera was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. He began working as a private language tutor completing his degree in Spanish and international studies. He is currently a high school Spanish teacher but still enjoys working with adults to increase their language comprehension.

The CAP Exam is a four-part test which includes the three-part CPS exam and an additional section regarding advanced organization management. Fundamentals of Instructor Training This class is a prerequisite for the Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard Training Instructor Courses and is intended to train entry-level instructor candidates. Students will learn teaching methods common in Red Cross courses, steps in planning to teach, the need for accurate, timely reporting and record keeping as well as the importance of representing the Red Cross effectively. Registration is at the Student Recreation Center – North main office. Late registrations cannot be accepted. Dates/Time: Wednesday, November 18, 5:00 p.m. Lifeguard Training This course uses American Red Cross instruction to train instructor candidates to teach basic-level Lifeguarding, Waterfront Lifeguarding, Waterpark Lifeguarding and Shallow Water Attendant (all including first aid), Lifeguard Management, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Administering Emergency Oxygen, Bloodborne Pathogens Training: Preventing Disease Transmission and Basic Water Rescue courses. Instructor candidates also will become familiar with GuardStart: Lifeguarding Tomorrow and Water Safety presentations. This course prepares instructor candidates to use course and presentation materials, conduct training sessions and evaluates the progress of candidates in a professional-level course. Hendrickson has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Missouri State University. She also has earned two graduate degrees in banking through Vanderbilt University and Louisiana State University and recently received a MBA at Southeast Missouri State University. Jennifer and her husband started Hendrickson Business Advisors, LLC in 2007. The firm provides management and marketing consulting services to businesses. Janet L. Livingston has a bachelor of arts degree and a master’s degree in business administration from Drury University. After spending 17 years at SRC Holdings Corporation, Janet joined Hendrickson Business Advisors, LLC as a consultant in 2008.
Phlebotomy Technician Certification Program In partnership with Condensed Curriculum International, Inc. (CCI), the Office of Extended & Continuing Education is now offering two Health Care Professional training programs. Although the US economy remains sluggish and the overall job market has not improved, the demand for health care staff and professionals is growing at a staggering rate. These factors have created enormous job opportunities for individuals trained in leading health care professions. Available to both working adults interested in a new career and current health care professionals, these exciting programs will help students prepare for jobs available to health care staff and professionals! The 90 hour Phlebotomy Technician Program prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients NOTE: This 90 hour program does not include the arranging of a free clinical rotation on behalf of students.
