ages 8-14 Howdy younins! We is gonna have a Christmas cookin party that Maw be proud of. We’s gonna be cookin mater casserole, fried pickles and other yummy Hillbilly treats. We evens get to make a purdy decoration dat ya git to take home and show off. So come er down in yorr best dress overalls and hat for sum good eatin and a good ole time! Don’t wait to sign up now, git er done before there’s no spots left! Saturday, December 6 Kara Koeberl-Freeman has a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness from Southeast Missouri State University. She has been a member of Jackson MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) for three years and Parents as Teachers for five years. She enjoys being around children and recently helped out with HORIZONS 2008 (Extended & Continuing Education’s summer youth camp held each year in June).
Super Sophisticated Spa Party Become the star of the show and bring all of your friends! Let your inner “diva” shine as we make fantastic spa products with recipes you can re-create at home. We’ll have a great time making super-moisturizing chocolate masks, fun to wear body-glitter, and a yummy smelling lotion or bubble bath. It’s a wrap when you make your own “I’m a star” name plate for your dressing room at home! Live it up while we serve fun spa-themed snacks. Wear your favorite pajamas or bring a fluffy robe to enjoy this spa party the way it’s meant to be! Saturday, November 8 Christy Mershon is currently the Assistant Director of Extended & Continuing Education. Christy loves to cook and has an extensive background in children’s educational programming.

We’ll make bubbling potions, mix up slimy glowing goo, and create ooey, gooey worms! Learn how to create spooky sounds, grow life-size body parts and more! To top it all off, we’ll make pumpkins explode! You’ll have so much fun, you won’t even know you’re learning science! Saturday, October 18 Jason Lindsey, an award-winning meteorologist with a passion for encouraging science education, has a bachelor of science degree with an emphasis in meteorology and climatology and a minor in broadcast news. Jason produced a segment called the Heartland Science Lab, showing thousands of viewer’s hands-on science demonstrations. Jason is actively involved in bringing more science to the Heartland!
