  • Are living with lineal relatives (parent, grandparent) or legal guardian and commuting from their residence within a reasonable distance (50 miles) of Cape Girardeau.
  • Are 21 years of age by the beginning of the semester for which they are enrolled.
  • Are a military veteran.
  • Have completed at least 57 credit hours, which are accepted by the University towards earning a degree from Southeast.
  • Are married and/or have dependent children in residence.
  • Have lived in University housing at Southeast for two years (four semesters, not including summers).

Housing Process

Residence hall room assignments are made based upon your roommate preferences, residence hall preference and date of submission of your housing contract. As we complete housing assignments, every effort is made to match students with roommates who share similar preferences and habits. As residence halls are assigned, one factor that is considered is the date you submit your Contract for University Housing. Students who submit their housing contract requests earlier are more likely to be assigned to their desired residence halls. Students receive their housing and roommate assignments during the middle of July.

Priority in the hall assignment process is given to students who submit a Contract for University Housing by Dec.15.
