The University operates several shuttle buses that transport students from perimeter parking lots to buildings on campus. All of the shuttle buses are accessible to students/passengers with disabilities. For a complete explanation of shuttle routes, visit: http://www5.semo.edu/dps/Shuttle_Routes.htm. Shuttle(s) run from 7:00 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday and 1:00 p.m. to 2 a.m. on the weekends.
Organizations affiliated with the University have the opportunity to arrange charter shuttle service for on-campus activities. These services must be arranged at least one week before the event and are available for on-campus activities only. Charges for the service are billed to the group’s University account. If you believe you have mistakenly been issued a parking ticket, you may appeal the ticket using Banner Self Service. You can learn more about the process here: http://www5.semo.edu/dps/parking/ticketAppeal.asp. Appeal Hearing dates are scheduled for the third Thursday of every month beginning in September. Appeal results are returned by e-mail within seven days of the hearing date. If a bill is issued before your hearing date, you must pay it. However, if the appeal is decided in your favor, the violation charges will be credited to your account. If the appeal is decided against you, violation charges will be charged to your account.
Parking regulations at the University are enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Student workers assist patrol officers in writing tickets Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Department of Public Safety’s Patrol Unit provides enforcement for remaining times. Preferred Commuter permits are available to those students who do not live in the residence halls.
Preferred Resident parking permits are available to students who live in the residence halls and who have completed 30 hours of course work and are enrolled in 12 or more semester hours.
Perimeter Parking permits available to resident students with 29 or fewer hours or who are enrolled in less than 12 semester hours, students who applied for but were denied preferred parking and students who choose perimeter parking.
Early College Credit Parking Permit must be purchased by students who are dually enrolled in both high school and University classes and who wish to park in University lots.
Students also may choose to apply for Summer Only parking or Evening Only parking permits. If a vehicle other than the one with a parking permit is to be parked on campus, a free temporary permit must be obtained from Parking Services.
