Southeast Missouri State - return home Experience Southeast... Experience Success

Stephanie Campbell: March 14, 2008

I am finally home! Today was really a great departure day. This morning we had breakfast on Capital Hill with Joann Emerson and her staff. They talked about their jobs in Washington D.C. and what a typical day is like. They all highly encouraged internship in D.C. It was really refreshing to know that opportunities can arise to allow voice to be heard. We also heard from an Ambassador, which his experiences in life were also amazing.

We headed for the airport in Baltimore; most of us napped a little. We arrived at the airport a few hours before our flight, so we all had some visiting time and time to unwind. Personally, I needed a little bit of down time! We arrived at St. Louis around 5:30. This is where I left the group, so not much more to tell.

All in all, this trip was surely an opportunity of a lifetime for me and I am very grateful to Southeast Missouri State University for making it possible! Oh, and I couldn’t of ask for better faculty to chaperone; Dr. Freshwater, Dr. Hollerbach, Dr. Roberts, and Dr. Hill were very beneficial and wonderful!
