How You Can Participate in the CSIS Seminar

There are two selection processes for this Southeast/CSIS Spring Break opportunity.  Students can be selected by the dean of their college or school, or the directors of the regional campuses at Malden, Kennett, Sikeston or Perryville, or by the provost.  This portion of the selection process already has been completed.

Students who wish to be selected through the President's Office should follow the criteria as outlined below:

Full-time Southeast junior and first-semester senior students who have at least a 3.0 GPA are eligible (students must have completed at least 60 hours and no more than 105 hours as of the start of the Spring 2009 semester).  Complete an application and submit it and the necessary documentation to the President's Office. Application materials submitted to the Office of the President will be reviewed and students selected by the University president.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 60 credit hours and no more than 105 hours completed as of the start of the Spring 2009 semester
  • GPA of at least 3.0
  • Demonstrate leadership involvement on and off campus, academic excellence or both
  • Requires one letter of recommendation and the names of two other references, one of whom must be a member of the Southeast faculty or staff

If You Are Selected:

  • You must participate in an on-campus meeting to be scheduled early in the spring semester for a preliminary look at the topics to be covered during the Washington trip.
  • You must enroll in UI498 for three academic credits.
