The Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) and/or Certified Administrative Professional - Organizational Management (CAP-OM) ratings are earned through successful completion of the CAP and/or CAP-OM exam. To earn the CAP and/or CAP-OM rating, clerical employees study a wide variety of material and expand their knowledge in the field of office administration. This training equips them to effectively handle a broader array of problems, to initiate change, and to develop innovative ideas.
The CAP and CAP-OM exams are sponsored by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) and is administered in May and November of each year. Southeast Missouri State University is one of the sites that administers the exam. The IAAP makes information about the content of the exam available on their website.
