The Safe Zone Program at Southeast consists of a 2-hour training session which includes
lecture, discussion and interactive activities to provide you with tools to be an
ally to the LGBTQ+ community. Safe Zone training presentations are scheduled throughout
the year and are available for faculty and staff, and for students.

Are you interested in getting some basic information about the LGBTQ+ community but you don’t think you’re quite ready for Safe Zone just yet? LGBTQ+ 101 might be the perfect first step for you! In this program, you will learn about myths, facts, FAQ’s, terms and definitions related to the LGBTQ+ community. You will also learn how to be helpful/where to refer if a student needs assistance. This 45-minute training is more basic than the full Safe Zone training and does not include as much self-reflection or discussion.
If you are interested in scheduling an “LGBTQ+ 101” Session for your student organization, classroom, or department, please email Michele Irby at email@example.com with your preferred dates/times
