Southeast Missouri State University strives to create a safe environment for students, staff, faculty, and guests on campus.

Our University Police, Parking Services, Transit Services and Emergency Preparedness are all a part of the Department of Public Safety (DPS) overseen by director of Public Safety Beth Glaus, who has been with the department since 1988. The department's office is located on the North side of campus by the Show Me Center, with a 24/7 hotline number to contact for assistance.

Police Officer, Crime Prevention

"As a patrol officer and as a crime prevention programs coordinator, I, along with my fellow officers, contribute to campus safety by conducting proactive vehicle and foot patrols, by enforcing and investigating criminal laws as well as student Code of Conduct violations, by being present at events as a visual deterrent, and by providing educational programs and services."
