I. Catalog Description and Credit Hours of Course
Analysis of an economy's overall level of output, employment and prices. Several schools of thought are considered.
II. Prerequisite(s)
MA134 College Algebra
EC215 Principles of Microeconomics
EC225 Principles of Macroeconomics
EC335 Money and Banking is recommended
III. Purposes or Objectives of the Course
A. Use IS-LM, Aggregate Demand-Aggregate Supply and other models to analyze an economy.
B. Explain the position of each major school of thought in macroeconomics today.
IV. Expectations of Students
A. Regular class attendance and participation in class discussions and question/answer sessions.
B. Individual review of material presented in EC225, if necessary.
C. Familiarity with assigned reading assignments.
D. Satisfactory performance on examinations.
E. A minimum of two hours of outside class work for every hour in class.
