Who should apply for Teacher Certification?

Anyone wishing to be certificated in the State of Missouri should apply for Teacher Certification, once meeting the requirements.

When should I apply for Teacher Certification?

Applications for Teacher Certification will be mailed to each graduation candidate approximately two months prior to graduation based on the graduation list received from the Registrar's Office.  If you do not receive an application packet 30 days prior to graduation, please contact our office.

How long will it take for me to receive my certificate?

Applications will be sent to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in Jefferson City after graduation.  Once our office receives your transcript (usually two weeks after graduation), your application will be completed and sent to DESE.  It can take any where from two to eight weeks for DESE to issue your certificate.

A post card will be mailed to you once your application is mailed to DESE.
