These opportunities include international curriculum, visiting scholars, faculty research and professional activities.
The College of Education takes special pride in its receipt of the prestigious Christa McAuliffe Showcase for Excellence Award, granted by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. Southeast is one of two institutions in Missouri that have received this honor and the only institution in the nation that has received it twice.
The College of Education has been recognized for its contributions to the advancement of national priorities by the White House Teach America Program, which establishes national goals for education.

The College of Education has received natinal recognition for excellence from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), & Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI). This recognition highlights the Colege of Education's commitment of providing education of the highest quality and standards to students.
