Jakob Pallesen is a SBTDC business counselor at the Institute for Regional Innovation
and Entrepreneurship (IRIE). His work is focused on providing market research and
business consulting services to regional entrepreneurs and small businesses. His main
focus is on helping early stage startups test their ideas, identify opportunities,
and develop strategic plans to get funded and grow their business ventures.
Before becoming a business counselor Jakob was a Project Coordinator at IRIE. This job included researching regional entrepreneurship and economic development strategies, performing market research, and researching entrepreneurial ecosystems. The core focus of this research was to provide evidence and support for developing implementation strategies based on an entrepreneurship policy framework.
Jakob Pallesen earned a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration, majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications, in 2012 and a Master of Business Administration in 2014 from Southeast Missouri State University. Jakob is a native of Denmark, having moved to Cape Girardeau in 2007.
