Operation JumpStart Missouri was created in 2006 by the Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The program has gained national recognition for its success in accelerating microenterprise creation.
Led by the success of Operation JumpStart Missouri, the Operation JumpStart model will assist any community leader, organization, or entrepreneur to build a strong and vibrant community through the acceleration of the number of new, successful businesses.
In the last six years over 680 individuals in rural communities in Missouri, Illinois, and Tennessee have completed the Operation JumpStart program leading to the immediate creation of over 250 new businesses and up to an additional 25% going on to launch within the first two years after graduation from the program.
