Thursday, April 4

11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Kickoff Party with free food and beverages donated from local businesses (Kent Library) 

University and local community members are welcome to stop by to learn more about the Creativity Festival while enjoying free food and beverages donated from local businesses and organizations.  

1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Creativity in Action Sessions one hour sessions focused on exploring something new 

1 p.m. - 2 p.m. Acting: The Creative Process with Dr. Kenneth Stilson

2 p.m. - 3 p.m. Zumba and Movement Improv with Danielle Sampson

HootUp learn how to use HootSuite for managing personal and professional social media at this networking event featuring Stacy Dohogne Lane of the Cape Girardeau CVB

Appetizers will be provided by the Young Alumni Chapter of the Southeast Missouri State University Alumni Association, and a cash bar will be available. All are welcome to follow the HootUp at #hootupcape on Twitter.

Coffee with the Entrepreneurs Deb Maevers, owner of Pastimes Antiques and director of the VintageNOW Fashion show (Dempster Hall, Room 128)

Participants are welcome to enjoy free breakfast and coffee while Maevers highlights her experiences as the director of the VintageNOW fashion show, an annual fundraising event benefitting The Safe House for Women.

Creativity Crawl an online scavenger hunt highlighting downtown Cape Girardeau attractions, businesses, and experiences (Downtown)

The interactive online scavenger hunt event begins and ends at West Bank Bistro located at 340 S. Lorimier, across from the Southeast River Campus. Teams will use Twitter to document various attractions, businesses, and experiences in downtown Cape Girardeau. Preregistration is encouraged but not required.

Saturday, April 6


9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
5K Costume Fun Run/Walk For Scholarship with awards and brunch at the finish line (CIE)

The race begins and ends at the CIE located at 920 Broadway.  Awards will be given for best costumes and race times at the post race brunch at 10 am which is free to all race entrants. Registration received by March 29 guarantees a t-shirt.  Cost is $10 for Southeast students; for all others, registration is $20 if received by March 29, or $25 if received after March 29 and on race day.
