Cultural diversity encompasses the cultural differences that exist between people, such as language, dress and traditions, and the way societies organize themselves, their conception of morality and religion, and the way they interact with the environment.
Learning Opportunities
Diversity Awareness - Diversity Awareness Training is being held this fall as an optional training for any University employees that would like to attend. Join us as we learn about the four main aspects of diversity in the workplace-stereotypes, similarities, unity, and benefits-by listening to the stories and thoughts of characters who actually live and work in a diverse world. Participants will have the opportunity to explore their own feelings regarding stereotypes, ethnicity, and personal biases. We’ll also learn about disrespectful behavior and how to correct it. Using the seven common sense guidelines, we’ll discuss issues of respect in a diverse workplace. For more information, please contact us at (573) 651-2524.
