REVISING THE “SERVICE” DESCRIPTION OF FACULTY PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES BY ESTABLISHING A “PROCEDURES” SECTION  

BE IT RESOLVED THAT:  subject to the passage and approval of both this bill and its companion bill establishing a corresponding “policy” section, Chapter 3, Section E of the Faculty Handbook be amended by adding the following “procedures” section (to follow the companion “policy” in the Handbook):      

Procedures Regarding Full-Time Faculty Attendance at Commencement Exercises  

1.      Each faculty member is expected to attend one commencement exercise a year
2.      Each department is expected to have at least one third of its members present for each exercise.
3.      Department chairpersons are responsible for scheduling the distribution of faculty among the winter and spring exercises.
