BRIEF SUMMARY: Increase RNTT Merit pay from $1250 to $2000 found in section 2.C of the Faculty Handbook.
RNTT MERIT PAY INCREASE
WHEREAS: RNTT merit pay is currently $1250.
WHEREAS: RNTT faculty members can only request this merit increase once every four years.
WHEREAS: RNTT faculty members perform similar services as do tenured/tenure-track faculty members and are valuable members of the faculty body.
WHEREAS: RNTT faculty members must complete a record of service to attain this periodic Merit increase, a significant undertaking that merits a greater salary increase that reflects an appreciation for their work and contributions to the university.
WHEREAS: An increase in RNTT merit pay may help retain excellent candidates who might otherwise resign because of the low level of potential merit increase.
WHEREAS: The Faculty Handbook states that “the amount of the base pay increase shall be reviewed during the 2010 fiscal Budget Review process and every two years thereafter.”
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the “Non-Tenure Track Faculty Merit” table included on page 90 of the Faculty Handbook in section 2.C be replaced with the following table as indicated:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: this bill shall allow those currently in the process of review for RNTT merit to receive the proposed increase.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: this bill shall allow those who received the RNTT merit increase in FY2012 to receive 50% of the proposed increase.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: this bill be implemented only with the approval of the Budget Review committee.
