Grants and Research Funding Committee

The Grants and Research Funding Committee members recommended funding for 18 of 21 submitted proposals during the Fall 2006 and Spring 2007 calls for proposals.  A total of $73,255.46 was requested during the two rounds of proposals and a total of $56,520 was allocated.  The average allocation for each funded proposal was $3,140.  Since there is a total of $18,293.79 remaining from the current GRFC budget ($60,000) and carry over, a third call for proposals will be issued this summer.

Mohammed Ali, Chair, GRFC, met with Dr. Michael Cobb, Chair, SEMO Faculty Senate, on July 26, 2006 and on November 29, 2006, to discuss changes in the GRFC Guidelines suggested by the GRFC members. Ms. Teresa Wildman, Director of Grant Development, was present at the Nov. 29, 2006, meeting.  These suggested changes were presented in the GRFC Annual Report for 2005-6.  A bill proposing these changes were discussed and passed at the senate meeting in April 2006.  The bill was later approved by the President.  The revised GRFC Guidelines is available online (http://portal.semo.edu/cp/home/loginf).
