UI100 Textbook

First-Year Seminar: Connecting to Southeast

The UI100 Advisory Committee (Dr. Theresa Haug-Belvin, Katie Foshee, Katlyn Griffin, Laurie Overmann, and Dr. Shonta Smith) created a completely custom textbook written by faculty, staff, and students from Southeast to be used in all UI100 classes. The purpose of this textbook is to introduce students to pertinent Southeast Missouri State University information during their first semester.

Chapters in the textbook include learning about more about Southeast, how to find and evaluate information, critical thinking, communication, finding your place, being a responsible Redhawk, and learning about the various academic resources you can use while at Southeast. This book is meant to help students, not only during their first year, but during their entire academic career.

First-Year Seminar: Connecting to Southeast is published by XanEdu and can be purchased in the Southeast Bookstore during Fall 2018 Opening Week.
